A fitting tribute?
Idly flicking through the bizarre and weird private tournaments that are going to run on Pokerstars tonight I found this gem:
Oct 11 19:00 CHRISTOPHER REEVES MEMORIAL OMAHA/8 PL $10+1.
Two players are registered.
Now, I certainly haven't got anything against Mr Reeves but is a $11 PLO8 really a fitting tribute?
Was Superman a hi/lo addict? And is Pokerstars making $2 out of this event just a wee bit sick?
I just think it is a wee bit tawdry to run a poker tournament in memory of an actor who as far as I know had absolutely nothing to do with the game. That's all.

Superb. I also like the Danish Online Championship ($22) which drew 3 runners and awarded 3 prizes - $30, $18 and $12.
The Lit Crit
Now that's good value. Worst case scenario, for $10 you can put "3rd place finisher, Danish Online Poker Championships 2004" on your CV.
Andy.
can't be happy if not only do you end up with a $10 hi/lo memorial tournie but you also end up, misspelt, on the camel's blog. got to be worth a compensatory £10 donation to stem cell research oh ruminant one.
PokerStars don't setup any of those tournaments, the names, buyins etc are all entered by the people who've requested the right to set them up.
It's not really PokerStars' fault if someone has a strange sense of humour.
Fair point I suppose.
But, I'm sure Pokerstars vet all the private tournaments. If you tried to put up Dog Lovers Bestiality Open Seven Card Stud I'm pretty sure it would be vetoed aren't you?
